CBP Scholarship

The CBP Scholarship Fund was established through the generous support of family and friends to assist students whose desire and appreciation for an education are as intense as were Cody’s. We have established a relationship with the NC Community Foundation that will oversee the administration of the fund, receive donations and applications, and disburse the awards. We are happy to have this organization involved in perpetuating this memorial for time everlasting – to honor Cody and his life and what he stood for.

The scholarship will be awarded each summer to a rising freshman or sophomore attending NC State University in any field of engineering, science or math. Eligible high school students include North Carolina School of Science and Math, Ayden-Grifton High School and Arendell Parrott Academy. Guidance counselors at each school can provide further information and application packages.

Further funding is acquired through an annual golf tournament held on the anniversary of Cody’s death. Current totals allow for two $1000 awards to be distributed each fall.

Funds obtained contribute to the separate CODY BLUE FOUNDATION which promotes fire safety through training, presentations and fire department support.
